Area Man Arrested After Intentionally Causing Head-On Collision on Route 219

PoliceSNYDER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say an area man was arrested on felony assault charges after intentionally causing a head-on collision on State Route 219 on Friday evening.

DuBois-based State Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Route 219 in Snyder Township, Jefferson County, round 6:15 p.m. on Friday, August 28.

Police say it was then discovered that one of the drivers involved in the crash, identified as 24-year-old Anthony Mancuso, of Penfield, had intentionally crossed over into the known victims’ lane of travel and struck their vehicle head-on.

The victims are listed as a 21-year-old Dubois woman and a 21-year-old Penfield man.

The vehicles involved in the crash are listed as a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek and a 2008 Jeep Wrangler.

According to police, Mancuso was taken into custody on the following charges:

– Aggravated Assault
– Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Police say Mancuso remains in custody after being unable to post bail.
