Area Man Faces Stalking, Indecent Exposure Charges After Exposing Himself in Parking Lot in Punxsutawney

PUNXSUTAWNEY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Stalking, indecent exposure, and related charges have been filed against an area man who allegedly exposed himself twice in a parking lot in Punxsutawney.

Court documents indicate the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 62-year-old Perry Lee Bowser, of DuBois.

According to a criminal complaint, on November 28, Punxsutawney Borough Police received a report of a man sitting in front of a store in the Punxsy Plaza exposing himself and masturbating.

A known victim reported he was in a vehicle with a juvenile victim when a single cab, older model Chevy truck pulled into a parking spot next to them, and the man in the truck made eye contact with them while sitting with his pants down masturbating in the truck. The adult victim jumped out of the vehicle and confronted the man who then allegedly fled from the parking lot onto Mahoning Street and was last seen driving up Sycamore Street, the complaint states.

The victim was able to provide a license plate number, which was then looked up and came back as belonging to a 1988 Chevy truck registered to Perry Bowser, the complaint states.

A female victim also provided a written statement noting that she was with the male victim and the juvenile victim when they pulled into the parking lot and she saw a man in a truck that she thought was the same man she had seen two weeks prior masturbating. She noted that he was in a different vehicle, according to the complaint.

On December 2, Bowser was interviewed by police.

Bowser admitted to “fondling himself” in his vehicle in the parking lot on the day and time in question, as well as on the previous date the female victim had provided, the complaint indicates.

Bowser was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock at 1:20 p.m. on December 16, on the following charges:

– Corruption of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
– Indecent Exposure, Misdemeanor 1 (four counts)
– Stalking – Repeatedly Commit Acts to Cause Fear, Misdemeanor 1 (three counts)
– Open Lewdness, Misdemeanor 3 (four counts)
– Disorderly Conduct Hazardous/Physical Offense, Misdemeanor 3 (four counts)

He remains free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on February 1, 2021, with Judge Mizerock presiding.
