Area Residents Involved in Fox Township Crash

ELK CO., Pa. (EYT) – An area woman and two children were involved in a crash that occurred in Fox Township on Monday night.

According to Ridgway-based State Police, the accident happened around 9:57 p.m. on October 12, on Old Kersey Road at its intersection with Beaver Driver in Fox Township, Elk County.

Police say 27-year-old Jocelyn J. Clinger, of Falls Creek, was operating a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, traveling north on Old Kersey Road when the vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway into the gravel/dirt along the side of the road.

According to police, Clinger attempted to correct the vehicle’s path of travel and lost control. The vehicle then crossed the double yellow lines, went across the southbound lane, and off the left side of the roadway. It came to a final rest facing north in a ditch on the west side of the road.

Clinger was using a seat belt, and two six-year-old male passengers in the vehicle were properly secured in front-facing child safety seats.

No injuries were reported.

Fox township Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Clinger was cited for a registration violation.
