Barbara A. Benson, 76, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at her home.
She was born March 8, 1947, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Maxine L. (Burkett) and Mervin O. Baun.
On August 13, 1966, she married William B. Benson, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 7, 2009.
Barbara formally attended the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church.
She had her master’s degree in education and taught Social Studies and Social Sciences at Jeff Tech for forty years.
She loved her children and enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, cruises, her pets, reading, and doing sudoku puzzles.
She is survived by two children, son William B. Benson, III and significant other Avis Huey of Indiana and daughter Kelley Benson of Punxsutawney; a sister Bev Kauffman of Juneau, PA, and a brother Lynn Baun of Marion Center, PA.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Ron Baun.
All arrangements are private for Barbara’s family.
Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
