Barbara Anne Robertson, 86, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away due to complications caused by Alzheimer’s Disease, on December 3, 2020, while a resident at Christ the King Manor, in DuBois, PA.
She was born on March 26, 1934, to the late James E. Robertson and Dolly (Marsh) Robertson, in North Tonawanda, New York. Barbara graduated from Tonawanda, NY High School in 1952. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Buffalo in 1956 and completed post graduate work at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
She was employed as a Science Teacher at Central School in Arcade, New York and as an Educator at the Public Museum in Milwaukee, WI. She held memberships with the Nature Sanctuary Society of Western New York and with the Reynoldsville Historical Society.
Barb loved to travel and can claim to have visited almost all 50 states, including Hawaii and Alaska. She has been to all the continents except Antarctica. She was an avid jigsaw puzzle builder, including a giant 10,000 piece one. She loved horseback riding and owned two horses when she lived in Milwaukee. Barb was an avid reader and a knitter and could do both at the same time. She did beautiful beadwork, to the point that American Indians have even purchased her output.
Barbara is survived by one brother, James A. (Laura) Robertson, Orange, Connecticut; one sister-in-law, Judy Robertson, Monaca, Pennsylvania; five nieces and nephews; Connie Collier; Thomas D. Robertson, Jr.; James W. Robertson; Christine Cafferty; Eric L. Robertson; and eight grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by one brother; Thomas D. Robertson, Sr.
Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to Christ the King Manor, P.O. Box 448, DuBois, PA 15801.
Interment will take place at the Desire Cemetery, Reynoldsville, PA.
