Barbara J. McQuown

Barbara J. McQuown, 62, of Punxsutawney, PA., died Tuesday, May 1, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born April 15, 1956, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Bair) and Donald Earl McQuown.

Barbara was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School. She attended the Anita Assembly of God Church and enjoyed Christian music. She loved animals and enjoyed being outdoors.

She loved to volunteer with Child Evangelism Fellowship, where she would read stories to the children. Barbara also worked as a CNA, first for Blose-McGregor Nursing Home and then for Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

She is survived by three sisters: Karen Clark and husband, Robert, of Panic, PA, Wanda McQuown of Punxsutawney, and Tammy Eyler and husband, Barry, of Punxsutawney; two nephews, Scott and Shawn Clark; three nieces, Elizabeth, Emily, and Emma Eyler; three great-nieces, Katelyn, Siera, and Abigail Clark; a great-nephew, Gatlin Clark; and a great-great-nephew, Drew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald L. McQuown, a nephew, Robert Clark, and an infant niece, Lenna Grace Clark.

Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, at the Deeley Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. also on Friday, May 4, at the funeral home, with Pastor Harold Haight officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Oliveburg, PA.
