CLEARFIELD, Pa. (EYT) – In a rare but exciting late-season showdown, Karns City, the second-ranked team in the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg D9Sports.com District 9 Football Rankings travels to No. 3 Clearfield on the Week 9 Explore Radio RRR Roadhouse KSAC Football Game of the Week.

Fans can catch all the action starting with the Kerle Tire Pregame Show at 6:30 p.m. with Mike Kalinowski on the call. Kalinowski will be joined in the booth by Bob “The Governor” Dunkle back after taking a two-week vacation. Kickoff from Clearfield High School in Hyde is set for 7 p.m.

Fans can listen to the game live on exploreClarion.com as well as with the ExploreRadio/ExploreClarion app (fans should click on the ExploreClarion feed on the app for the game). Fans who don’t already have the app can download it for both Apple and Android.

Both teams enter the game at 8-1 and both are riding 8-game win streaks after losing their season openers.

A Clearfield win could give the Bison the top seed in the D5/6/9 Class 4A playoffs, while Karns City has already locked up the top spot in the D8/9 Class 3A bracket.

The Bison feature a balanced attack led by senior running back Seth Caldwell, who recently became the eighth player in District 9 history to run for 4,000 career yards and the third Clearfield player to do so. Sophomore quarterback Isaac Rumery is having a fantastic season as well, and he is helped by two of the top receivers in D9 in Micah Heichel and Ryan Lezzer. Reigning The Rehab Centre D9Sports.com District 9 Defensive Player of the Year Matt Collins is a strong front-runner for that award again this season.

Karns City is also loaded, although injuries have hurt the Gremlins a bit in the last few weeks. It is unknown if leading rusher Chandler Turner will play this week with an ankle injury suffered in last week’s loss to Moniteau. The loss of Turner would possibly hurt more on defense than offense for the Gremlins, who are loaded at running back with the likes of Kaiden Powers, Cullen Williams and Eric Dodd among others.

Following the game, tune into the Advanced Disposal ExploreRadio Overtime Show, which can be heard on D9Sports.com and the ExploreRadio app (ExploreRadio channel) as well as 103.3 FM in Brookville and 104.1 FM in Punxsutawney.
