Benita M. Stanchus

Benita M. Stanchus, 89, of Brookville, PA, formerly of DuBois, PA, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

Born on November 7, 1931 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Rose Marie (Spurk) Fye.

She married John Stanchus who preceded her in death on December 25, 1980.

Benita had worked at the Penn Traffic Company Main Street Riverside in the deli for many years.

She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She loved to sew, crochet and fly fish with her husband and son.

Benita is survived by one son, John Stanchus of DuBois, PA, and one brother, Gilbert Fye and his wife Betty of DuBois, PA.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin Fye, and one sister, Marion Martz.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.
