Bonfardine Wins Hickory Grove Elementary School Spelling Bee

Brookville spelling bee winnersBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Espen Bonfardine was the big winner in the annual spelling bee at Hickory Grove Elementary School in Brookville.

A total of 60 students from grades 3 through 6 participated in the bee.

Bonfardine’s winning word was affectionately.

Bonfardine will attend the Scripps National Spelling Bee in March at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.

The second-place finisher was Samantha Himes and the third-place finisher was Zander Miceli.

Honorable mention went to the fourth-place finisher, Devon Kuntz, for his exemplary behavior and encouraging spirit toward others.
