Bonnie J. Tangren

Bonnie J. Tangren, 88 of DuBois, formerly of Punxsutawney, went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 18, 2014 at DuBois Nursing Home.

Mrs. Tangren was born October 22, 1925 in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Elmer and Kathryn (Hill) Emberg.

She was preceded in death by her husband William E. Tangren on February 2, 2010.

Mrs. Tangren worked for A.O. Smith and Keyser Aluminum in Erie. after returning to Punxsutawney she was employed by Rola Jensen before retirement. Bonnie was a member of the United Transportation Union.

Mrs. Tangren was a kind, sweet and caring wife, mother and grandmother who adored her grandchildren. Her family was her joy and her life.

She is survived by one son; William Tangren and wife Donna of DuBois, two grandchildren; Krista Tangren of Culpepper, VA., and Michael Tangren of Dubois and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers; Donald and Gerald Emberg and one sister; Virginia Byrne. Bonnie was the last surviving member of her family.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Eddy officiating.

Interment will follow at the American Legion Cemetery at Circle Hill.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Mrs. Tangren’s name to the charity of your choice.
