Corsica’s Independence Day Celebration

Brockway Old Fashioned 4th of July

The day opens with registration for the Firecracker 10k Race and Firecracker Fun Run beginning at 7:30 a.m. A Patriotic Program at American Legion Memorial Stage begins at 10:30 a.m. and the parade kicks off at 6:00 p.m. Lots more events are available throughout the day. A full schedule of events may be found on the event website.

North of Mason-Dixon (NOMAD) will begin playing a free show at 6:00 p.m.

Food and games will also be available.

CLARION COUNTY

I Love Clarion Celebration
5:00 p.m. at Clarion University Memorial Stadium

The Clarion Area Chamber of Business & Industry will hold the annual “I Love Clarion” Celebration on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the Clarion University Memorial Stadium where family, friends, and community celebrated our nation’s independence.

Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Free games and activities will be available and local businesses and non-profits will be selling food and refreshments including kettle corn, hot dogs, walking-tacos, ice cream, and more.

Live music starts at 7:00 p.m. and the evening concluded with a fireworks display at dusk.

Sponsors for the event include: Pennsylvania American Water Company, participating sponsor; and Clarion University, major sponsor.

Redbank Valley Chamber Fireworks Display
6:00 p.m. at Gumtown Park in New Bethlehem

The Fireworks Display hosted by the Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce is held along the beautiful banks of the Redbank Creek and can be viewed from Gumtown Park along Water Street as well as many other locations in and around the New Bethlehem area.

The day will include a free, fun-filled time for the whole family with food, music, and more beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Gumtown Park.

Stage entertainment prior to Fireworks will feature Son of Leroy.

St. Joseph’s 4th of July Festival
St. Joseph’s Parish Grounds, Lucinda, Pa.

10:00 a.m. – Dinner ticket sales will open.

11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Traditional all-you-can-eat chicken and ham dinners will be served, featuring homemade pie & soup with their famous homemade noodles. Takeouts will be available from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Dinner prices are Adults: $9.00 Children 6 – 12: $4.50 Children under 6: Free. Nearly 2,000 dinners are served each year.

11:00 a.m. – Grounds will open featuring diverse games of skill and chance for adults and children, a concessions stand, extensive Chinese Auction, prize drawings and children’s features. A cornerstone attraction are the handmade quilts with nearly 20 slated to be awarded throughout the day. A limited number will be available for purchase and three quilts will be featured in a silent auction. A preview of the quilts is available at www.stjoseph-stmichaelparishes.org.

The celebration will be held rain or shine on the canopy-covered parish grounds. The parish complex is located at 112 Rectory Lane along Rt. 66 in Lucinda (I-80 Exit 60, Rt. 66 north 10 miles) and is a short drive from Cook Forest State Park. 5:00 p.m. at Justus Park in Oil City

The family-friendly event will feature children’s activities, live music, food vendors, and more. The night will conclude with a stunning Pyrotecnico fireworks display sponsored by the Oil City Firefighters Local 700.

This year expect special appearances by Superwoman, Wonder Woman, Snoopy, and Woodstock; a stilt walker, juggler and caricaturists, the Cap’n Kids Pirate Show and Jungle Terry’s Traveling Zoo. The evening also features food and craft vendors, live music by Mostly Brass (5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.) and The Breeze Band (7 p.m. – 10 p.m.).
