Clarion University Student ID’d as Victim in Fatal Coal Truck vs. Car Crash

RAYBURN TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Clarion University student has been identified as the victim in a fatal accident on Route 28/66 Monday morning in Rayburn Township, Armstrong County.

Sources say the crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. when a coal truck landed on its side on top of a passenger car.

According to reports from WTAE-TV, the victim was a student at Clarion University.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

The roadway was closed in both directions for more than 4 hours.

Rayburn Township VFD, East Franklin Twp. Fire Department, Kittanning Hose Company #6, and Kittanning Twp. VFD were dispatched to the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police and PennDOT also responded to the accident.
