Dead Body Pulled from Sandy Lick Creek

REYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A known male victim was discovered deceased in Sandy Lick Creek in Winslow Township, approximately 1/2 mile west of Reynoldsville on Monday afternoon.

The body of Nathaniel Nalder, 38, of Reynoldsville, was discovered at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 28, by a recreational kayaker. Members from Curwensville Water Rescue recovered the body from the water at approximately 5:23 p.m., according to police.

Nalder was last seen by his mother on May 25 at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Through the daylight hours of Monday, May 28, several search/rescue teams and the Reynoldsville Police Department were attempting to locate Nalder after his boots and hat were discovered on the short of Sandy Lick Creek off Water Street in Reynoldsville.

Nalder’s body was found approximately 2.4 miles downstream from where his boots and hat were found.

An autopsy is scheduled.

Assisting the Curwensville Water Rescue and the Reynoldsville Police Department at the scene were the Pennsylvania State Police, Reynoldsville Fire Department, Reynoldsville Ambulance, the Jefferson County Coroner, Pine Creek Fire Department, Sykesville Fire Department, DuBois Fire Department, Brookville Fire Department and Sandy Creek Township/Sabula Fire Department.
