UPDATE: McIntyre Surrenders After Barricading Himself Inside Rimersburg House

mcintyre-capturedRIMERSBURG, Pa. (EYT) – The manhunt for convicted drug dealer Terry McIntyre is over.

Clarion County Chief Detective and Clarion Borough Police Chief William Peck told exploreClarion.com that McIntyre was apprehended on Friday afternoon at his residence in Rimersburg.

“He boarded up the doors and barricaded himself inside the residence,” said Peck.

After approximately 15 minutes, McIntyre surrendered peacefully and was returned to the Clarion County Jail.

The U.S. Marshal Task Force, the Pennsylvania State Police, and Clarion County Probation were on the scene.

The search for McIntyre began on Wednesday when he failed to appear on the third day of his trial on drug-related charges at the Clarion County Courthouse.

Peck says McIntyre cut his ankle bracelet off around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

McIntyre was found guilty later that day on 47 of 48 counts regarding manufacture of methamphetamine.

Peck said new charges are pending, including flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, default and required appearance and possibly others for cutting the bracelet.

“The two new crimes are both felonies,” Peck said.

Charges could also be forthcoming against anyone who harbored or assisted McIntyre.

“We are investigating his whereabouts while he was on the run and anyone who aided him will be charged,” said Peck.

McIntyre was originally lodged in the Clarion County Jail on $75,000.00 bail; however, on February 3, his bail was reduced to $1.00, and he posted it that day.

Wednesday, McIntyre was found guilty of the following offenses after a 2 1/2-hour jury deliberation:

  • Criminal Solicitation to possess Methamphetamine – 23 counts
  • Possession of Chemicals with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine – 17 counts
  • Manufacuring Methamphetamine (Child Presnt) – 2 counts
  • Reckless Endangerment – 2 counts
  • Manufacuring a Controlled Substance – 1 count
  • Operating a Methamphetamine Lab – 1 count
  • Conspiracy to Manufacure Methamphetamine – 1 count

He was found not guilty of illegally dumping methamphetamine waste.
