JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A hearing is scheduled for next week for a Brockway man who allegedly barged into a man’s home and threatened to burn down his barn.

Nellis is currently free on $10,000.00 monetary bail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Washington Township in early December.

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:07 a.m. on December 2, DuBois-based State Police responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on Coal Glenn Road in Washington Township, Jefferson County. The victim had reported that two individuals had entered the residence and threatened him.

At the scene, police spoke to the victim who stated he was sitting in his home when Thomas Nellis and another known man “barged in” uninvited and began yelling at him. The victim asked the men to leave but told police they stayed and continued yelling. He then asked them to leave two additional times, the complaint states.

The victim reported that Nellis also threatened to burn down his barn.

The victim said his daughter then called the police, and the known man told Nellis: “Let’s get out of here.” The men then left the residence and fled the scene.

The complaint notes that prior to the incident, both of the men had been advised by the victim that they were not permitted on his property.

Nellis was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 3:15 p.m. on December 2.

Court documents indicate felony burglary, misdemeanor trespass, and summary disorderly conduct charges filed against the known man listed above who was allegedly involved in the incident were withdrawn.
