WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brockway man was held for court Wednesday on charges related to an incident where he allegedly broke through the door of a woman’s home, punched her, and knocked her to the ground.

Court documents indicate the following charges against 51-year-old Brian Roger Keith, of Brockway, were held for court on Wednesday, September 25:

– Burglary – Overnight Accommodations; Person Present, Bodily Injury Crime, Felony 1
– Criminal Trespass-Break Into Structure, Felony 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary
– Criminal Mischief – Damage Property, Summary

The charges have been transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

Unable to post $30,000.00 monetary bail, Keith remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Washington Township on Wednesday, September 11.

According to a criminal complaint, around 3:29 p.m. on September 11, Trooper Himes, of the DuBois-based State Police, was dispatched to a residence on Cribbs Road in Washinton Township for a report of a possible assault.

At the scene, Trooper Himes met with a known female victim who reported that at 2:00 p.m. a neighbor, Brian Roger Keith, showed up at her house and she allowed him inside, but after he was inside for a time, they became involved in a verbal argument, and she told Keith to leave.

The woman reported Keith then left, and she locked the doors of the residence. However, Keith returned a short time later and began yelling at her, from outside, and saying he was looking for his lawnmower key. The woman reported she told Keith to go away and said she didn’t have the key, but Keith then began pounding on her door and yelling “let me in.” The woman refused, and Keith then allegedly broke through the front door of the residence using bodily force.

According to the complaint, the victim reported she and Keith then got into a physical altercation, and Keith punched her in the side of the head with a closed fist and then pushed her, causing her to fall backward onto the floor and break a lamp in her living room.

The complaint notes Trooper Himes observed a broken door frame on the front door of the residence, as well as damage to the interior trim board that covered the door frame. He also observed wooden pieces from the frame and trim board laying on the floor inside the residence and a broken lamp in the living room.

Keith was located at his residence and advised of his Miranda Warnings.

According to the complaint, Keith said he was at the victim’s residence on his lawnmower earlier in the day, but denied going inside at the time. He also continuously denied breaking into the victim’s residence and assaulting her. However, Keith also stated: “I’m not sure if I did it or not, I didn’t see anything.”

Keith was arraigned at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana.
