Brockway Man Faces Charges Following Suspected DUI Crash on Route 219

BROCKWAY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police say charges are pending against a Brockway man who was involved in a suspected DUI crash on State Route 219 late last week.

According to police, around 10:50 p.m. on October 29, a suspected DUI crash occurred on State Route 119 in Brockway Borough.

Police say the driver, identified as a known 66-year-old Brockway man, failed to negotiate a left-hand turn and struck a pole located along the side of the roadway in the Phoenix Sintered Metals parking lot. The driver then fled the scene.

According to police, when they arrived at the vehicle owner’s residence, the suspect admitted to being the driver of the vehicle when the accident occurred. Police then observed signs of impairment, and the driver was taken into custody and transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for a legal blood draw.

Charges are pending blood test results.
