Brockway to Host NARCAN Awareness Program April 3

BROCKWAY, Pa. (EYT) — A NARCAN Awareness Program will be held in Brockway on Monday, April 3.

The event, sponsored by the Brockway Block Parents, will be at the Parkside Complex at 1200 Wood Street and begins at 6:00 p.m.

NARCAN is used to reverse the effects of an heroin or opiate overdose.

Kim Cicion, a registered Medical-Surgical Nurse and Certified Emergency Nurse with Penn Highlands, will provide training on how to use it.

A representative from the Clearfield-Jefferson Drug & Alchohol Commission will talk about local resources that are available to help people and a speaker will discuss their recovery from opiate addiction.

Also, NARCAN will be distributed while supplies last.
