BROOKVILLE, Pa. (D9Sports) – Jillian Taylor’s steal and two free throws with 52.8 second left gave Brookville its first lead of the game and Marcy Schindler’s free throw with 10.8 seconds on the clock capped a come-from-behind 34-32 win over visiting Elk County Catholic.

ECC led by as many as 11 points in the first half and owned a 24-17 halftime lead, but the Lady Crusaders were outscored 17-7 in the second half and managed just two points in the fourth quarter as Brookville.
Madison Johnson scored eight points off the bench to lead Brookville, which lost 44-23 at ECC in December. Schindler scored six points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Josie Smith and Reilly Herzing each scored eight points to lead ECC.
ECC’s loss throws the District 9 Class 1A playoff seeding race into a jumble with North Clarion having secured the top seed and Northern Potter all but the No. 2 seed. After that, DuBois Central Catholic (14-7), A-C Valley (12-6), ECC (13-7), Otto-Eldred (12-7) and Johnsonburg (13-8) are battling it out for seeds two through seven.
JOHNSONBURG 40, BROCKWAY 31
BROCKWAY, Pa. – Behind 13 points from Cassidy King Johnsonburg grabbed a 40-31 non-conference win over homestanding Brockway.
Leah Lindemuth (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Kaitlyn Morelli (12 points, 10 rebounds) both had double-doubles for Brockway with Katlyn Cappetta chipping in 10 rebounds.
CURWENSVILLE 57, CLEARFIELD 54, overtime
CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Madison Weber wasn’t going to let Curwensville lose a second time this season to neighboring Clearfield.
The sophomore, who had a career-high 30 points and 20 rebounds, was at her best when it counted the most in the Lady Tide’s 57-54 overtime victory.
Her basket with 1:04 in overtime broke a 53-all tie, and she then iced the contest with a pair of free throws with 14.5 seconds left in the extra session. This came after she scored with 18 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime tied at 47.
Weber’s late score in regulation capped a frantic comeback by Curwensville, which trailed by 11, 41-30, early in the fourth quarter before going on a 10-2 run to get within three, 43-40, midway through the quarter. The Lady Tide then ended regulation with a 6-1 run to force overtime.
In overtime, the teams were tied at 48, 50 and 53 before Weber’s shot with just over a minute left broke the tie for good. Eighteen of Weber’s 30 came in the fourth quarter and overtime including seven of Curwensville’s 10 points in OT.
Hannah Dixon chipped in 12 points for Curwensville including the other three overtime points, all from the line. Christine Limbert added eight points and 10 rebounds.
Alayna Ryan led Clearfield, which beat Curwensville 52-51 Dec. 18, with 17 points. Ally Lindstrom chipped in 16 points for the Lady Bison with Brooke Cline adding 14.
The win keeps Curwensville’s playoff hopes alive. Because of a school policy, the Lady Tide need to win two of their remaining four games, all on the road. Curwensville finishes with Sheffield, Hickory, West Branch and Harmony having beaten West Branch by three and Harmony by 15 at home this season.
