Brookville Man Cited after Several Loud Explosions Trigger Emergency Response

UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Officials responded to several calls from residents concerning several loud explosions in the area of Winters Road, in Brookville, Union Township, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, 19-year-old Andrew J. Stage, of Brookville, allegedly fired a high powered rifle at numerous cans of Tannerite (exploding targets), causing several loud explosions, and causing several area residents to call Pennsylvania State Police.

This act also initiated a response from several area fire department personnel.

Corsica and Brookville Volunteer Fire Departments assisted at the scene.

Stage was cited for disorderly conduct.
