Brookville Man Arrested After Assaulting Police

brookville-policeBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) #8211; A man was tasered and arrested by Brookville Borough Police after an incident at a bar early Saturday morning.

According to Brookville Borough Police, 31-year-old Lawrence Larsen, of Brookville, was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated assault, resisting arrest and other summary traffic and non-traffic violations.

The incident occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, when Brookville Police were given information about a man driving another person’s vehicle without consent.

Officer Miller, of the Brookville Police Department, located the vehicle in the parking lot of a bar on Western Avenue. Officer Miller approached Lawrence Larsen and spoke with him. As they were conversing, Larsen started to take pills that were prescribed to him. Officer Miller advised him to stop taking them for his own safety, according to police.

Larsen disregarded the advice, and one of the officers attempted to grab the pill bottle from him.  Larsen began to fight the officers, and he was then tasered in order to gain compliance.

Brookville Police Officers were assisted by PSP Punxsutawney; Jefferson County Adult Probation; and Jefferson County EMS.
