Brookville Police Calls: During Traffic Stop Man Admits to Drinking ‘Substantial Amount’ of Mouthwash

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The Brookville Borough Police Department responded to the following incidents, according to reports released on Thursday, March 28:

Man Admits to Drinking “Substantial Amount” of Mouthwash

Around 2:51 p.m. on January 11, Brookville Police were informed of a known 44-year-old man who may be under the influence.

Police located the individual and conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle on Barnett Street in Brookville Borough, Jefferson County.

The individual was found to be under the influence and admitted to drinking a “substantial amount” of mouthwash to intoxicate himself.

Charges have been filed in Magisterial District Judge Gregory Bazylak’s office.

Driver Reported by Employer to be DUI in Brookville

Brookville Police were contacted by a known company on December 8, 2023, regarding a driver for their business who may be driving while intoxicated and is located inside Brookville Borough.

Police say officers found the driver in the 100 block of Laurelbrook Drive.

During this investigation, officers were able to determine the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The driver—a 38-year-old male—was arrested for DUI.

Charges have been filed.

DUI in Arby’s Drive-Thru

Brookville Police were contacted around 3:38 p.m. on February 3 about a possible intoxicated person in the Arby’s drive-thru on Allegheny Boulevard.

Police located the individual, a known 61-year-old male, who was subsequently determined to be under the influence of alcohol.

Charges have been filed with Judge Bazylak’s office.

The suspects’ names were not released.
