Brookville Woman Faces Hearing for Punching Man in Mouth

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A hearing is scheduled for next week for a Brookville woman who allegedly punched a man in the mouth while he was sleeping.

Court documents indicate a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 41-year-old Stella Nichole Massengale Guth at 10:45 p.m. on Friday, December 3, in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

She is currently free on $20,000.00 unsecured bail.

The charges stem from a June incident in Brookville.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:34 p.m. on June 29, Brookville Borough Police were dispatched to a report of a domestic incident at a residence on Mabon Street.

According to the complaint, a known male victim reported that Stella Massengale Guth woke him up and punched him in the mouth. The victim told 9-1-1 he did not need EMS, but was bleeding from the mouth and reported that he last saw Guth walking on Mabon Street toward Main Street.

Police responded to the area but were unable to locate Guth. Police then went to speak to the victim.

The complaint notes police observed the victim was still bleeding from his mouth and had a swollen lip that was impairing his ability to speak clearly.

According to the complaint, the victim told police he had gone to bed about an hour earlier and had then been awakened by Guth hitting him in the mouth. He reported she then left on foot heading toward Main Street.

The victim told police he did not want charges filed against Guth. However, police explained that since the situation is one of domestic violence, there would be charges filed, according to the complaint.

Guth was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak at 4:30 p.m. on July 6, 2021.
