Burton M. “Bud” Adamson

Burton “Bud” M. Adamson, 84, Penfield, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the DuBois Village.

Born April 15, 1933, in Sykesville, he was the son of the late Howard E. and Grace P. (Sprague) Adamson.

He married Lois A. Adamson on February 15, 1956, in DuBois. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2013.

Mr. Adamson graduated from Reynoldsville High School in 1951 and later retired from the B & O Railroad as a carman. He attended the Boone Mt. Emanuel Church. Bud enjoyed doing puzzles, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, David (Denise) Adamson of Sabula, Daniel (Mary) Adamson of Penfield, and Pamela (Darwin) Shaffer of Penfield; six grandchildren, Fred Adamson of Johnstown, Kenny Adamson of Rockton, Eric (Angie) Shaffer of DuBois, Cody (Cheyenne) Shaffer of Penfield, Jessie (David) Kness of DuBois, and Syrena (Shawn) Hamil of Talala, Oklahoma; fifteen great-grandchildren, Jayden Courson, Adam and Aubrie Gagliardi, and Tony and Leah Kness, all of Sabula, Kimberly and Julie Himes of Treasure Lake, Emma Phillips and Eric Clark Jr. of Talala, Oklahoma, Kalie Adamson of North Carolina, Caroline, Nolan, Eloise, and Cali Shaffer, and Raegan Gaudlip, all of DuBois, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lois, two brothers, Richard and Duayne, and a sister, Gracie Turner.

Friends and family will be received Monday, January 8, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. A Service of Remembrance will follow Monday’s visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Sheesley officiating.
