C. Samuel Titus

C. Samuel Titus, 92, Kittanning, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 while at Margaret Manor.

The son of John and Mamie (Dubrock) Titus, he was born March 10, 1926 in Kittanning, PA.

Samuel was a veteran who served in the US Army during World War II.

He was a Prisoner of War during the European Theatre.

Samuel was a coal miner who owned and worked in the mines.

He was employed with Allegheny Ludnum Steel for numerous years.

Before his retirement, he was a township supervisor for Rayburn Township.

Samuel was a caretaker for the Little Mahoning Bible Camp for many years.

He also was employed as a township supervisor for North Mahoning Township.

He also served on the board and volunteered for ICCAP.

Samuel enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and trapping.

Surviving is his daughter, Barbara Trail, Indiana; sister, Florence Grantz, Ford City; grandchildren, Becke (Tim) Steffish, Indiana; great grandchildren, Ashley and Danny Steffish; step-great grandchildren, Tim (Kate) Steffish, Creekside and Cassey (Jason) Bazala, Indiana; step great great grandchildren, Joey, Madison G., Evan, Anna, Angel, Caleb, Madison L., and Rachael; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Betty (Bowser) Titus; sisters, Ella Fry and Verda Hogenmiller; brothers, Art, Bill, and John; and step great great granddaughter, Timberlynn.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 12 to 2p.m. at St. Paul Congregational Church, Kittanning. A funeral service will immediately follow.

Interment in the Pine Creek Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
