Car Crashes into Tree off Route 36, Punxsutawney Man Injured

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 10:23 p.m. on August 14, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 36 (North Main Street), south of Notary Lane, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 45-year-old Eric A. Schneider, of Punxsutawney, was traveling south on SR 36 and lost control of his 2007 Chevrolet Impala.

The car exited the western berm of the roadway, struck shrubbery, and then impacted a tree, police say.

The car came to a final rest facing south, according to police.

Schneider suffered moderate injuries, police say.

Jefferson County EMS transported him to Punxsutawney Hospital for injury to his right leg, according to police.

The car sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene by Southside Towing.

Schneider was charged with a traffic violation, police say.
