Car Significantly Damaged After Running Over Truck Tire on I-80

SANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a one-car accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, at the 97.4 mile marker, in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, around 7:35 p.m. on December 28, 58-year-old Ronald C. Lee, of Exeter, was traveling east on I-80 in the left lane.

A truck tire and wheel were laying in the center of the left lane. Lee was unable to avoid the wheel as there was a car in the right lane beside him.

Lee’s 2008 Saturn Aura drove over the wheel, causing significant damage to the underside of the car.

Lee pulled his car onto the south berm of the roadway.

He was using a seat belt and was not injured.
