Carl Eugene Gustafson age 69 of 7th Avenue Extension Brockway, PA; went to be with the Lord on the morning of Thursday, March 10, 2016.
Born in Indiana, PA on December 10, 1946 he was the son of the late Carl Edwin and Elizabeth Preston Gustafson. On September 14, 1968 he was married to Linda Sheehan and she survives. Retired, Carl had been employed in Day Upkeep at Owen-Brockway Glass for 42 years.
He was a member of the Moorhead United Methodist Church, and the Brockway Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed going camping with his grandsons, watching Nascar racing, cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates, spending his mornings at the J & M Garage with his friends and having his dog “Sadie” sitting on his lap. Carl never worried about himself. He was always thinking of everyone else first, especially his grandsons.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a daughter Karen (David) Dick of St. Marys, PA; a sister Lela Moody of Oil City, PA; 3 grandsons: Derek Dick of Harrisburg, PA and Austin and Kaleb Dick both of St. Marys.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, March 12 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM also at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in the Maria Lutheran Cemetery at Dagus Mines. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
