Carole Ruth (Kline) Vance

Carole Ruth (Kline) Vance, 76 of Punxsutawney passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Vance was born on Nov 4, 1938 in DuBois, a daughter of the late Paul and Kathryn (Hilliard) Kline of Dubois.

Carole was married to Edgar L. Vance who survives. She was a devoted, loving wife to her husband of 57 years. She was a wonderful, caring mother and homemaker who also worked outside the home retiring from Punxsy High School. Carole also worked at the Riverside Bakery for 13 years.

Carole loved her community and her family; especially, her grandchildren. She always put her family first never too busy to spend time with them or attend to their needs. She was a member of the CMA Church and a member of We Care in Punxsy. Her family and baking were her passions; who in her husband Edgar’s word’s, “Was the world’s best wife, mother, grandmother, and baker!”

Surviving relatives include her husband Edgar; their son Gary Vance of Punxsy and daughter Tami (Vance) Roach of Youngstown, PA; a brother, Paul J. Kline and his wife Marion of Dothan, AL; and a sister Marlene Keene of Ft. Mill, SC. Carole is also survived by four grandchildren who were the love of her life, Miranda, Jeremy, Ashley, and Billy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, William C. Roach.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Shumaker Funeral Home in Punxsy.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at the Beechwoods Cemetery in Falls Creek, PA.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Vance’s memory to We Care in Punxsutawney.
