According to the criminal complaint filed by a Jefferson County Drug Task Force officer, communication via Facebook Messenger was made around 8:42 a.m. on Friday, August 4, by a confidential informant (CI). The CI asked if Curtis Walker was on his way with the product, and Walker replied he would be on the way shortly.

Around 9:00 a.m., an officer was conducting surveillance on the property of 691 Beers Road, Eldred Township, when he saw a man, wearing a white shirt and black shorts, walk toward a camper in the rear of the property located to the left of the driveway. The man then got into a black pickup truck with a South Carolina license plate and then walked toward a Subaru parked in the driveway in the middle of the property, the criminal complaint states.

All persons then entered the Subaru and left the property en route for the controlled buy, scheduled to happen immediately at 8476 Route 949, Sigel. At approximately 9:03 a.m., Walker was observed by officers on Route 36 traveling toward Route 949. The vehicle was stopped at approximately 9:06 a.m. by a Punxsutawney-based State Police trooper, according to the complaint.

The trooper observed the passengers begin to move in the vehicle as he stopped it, and he pulled the driver out of the vehicle. The front seat passenger, William Todd, was found in possession of approximately 6.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine and $700.00. The 6.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine was packaged into 3.5 gram and 1-gram packages, the complaint states.

Multiple other items of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana were recovered on Todd, including packaging material and pipes, the complaint continues.

Todd was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on October 3. He was released on October 12 after posting $40,000.00 cash bail.

Jury selection for Todd’s case is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on March 12, in front of President Judge John H. Foradora.

Jury selection for Walker is scheduled for February 5. He is facing various drug charges, including three felonies and two misdemeanors.
