Catherine “Kitty” Egan, Age 86 of South State Street, DuBois, Pa died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born on December 16, 1929 in DuBois, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Daniel P. & Margaret (Caulfield) Egan.
Kitty retired as the office manager of the St. Mary’s office of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She worked for Met Life for 38 years.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where she currently served as the President of the Altar Rosary Society. She volunteered weekly in the office at St. Catherine’s, volunteered at the St. Joseph Outreach Program, and worked the election polls in the City of DuBois’ 5th ward for many years. She enjoyed reading, going for walks, and Kitty was always avidly involved in all of her family’s activities and events.
She is survived by a sister (Mary Delaney of Reynoldsville, Pa.), and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 7 sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
For those who wish to attend, a scriptural wake service will be prayed on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m., to be followed immediately by the praying of the rosary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
