Clara “Berniece” Rossey

Clara “Berniece” Rossey, 76, of Shippenville, PA, formerly of Corsica, died on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on November 14, 1941, in Corsica, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Aiken and Hazel Kunselman Aiken. She was a graduate of Clarion Limestone High School. In April of 1958, she was married to Russell L. Dick Rossey in Corsica. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2010.

Clara was a housewife and raised several foster children. She was employed at The 20th Division Inn in Roseville at one time. She is a member of the Presbyterian Church in Corsica. She belonged to the Get Together Sewing Club and also enjoyed raising flowers and strawberries.

Mrs. Rossey is survived by two sons, James Rossey and partner Peg of Strattanville, Nathan Rossey of Shippenville; three daughters, Millie Brewer and husband Steve of Clarion, Debora Taylor of Kesey, Jodie Heffner and husband Mike of Shippenville; a brother, James Aiken of Corsica; two sisters, Janet Brocious of Corsica, Blanche Clinger and husband Dennis of Corsica, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two expected great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Clara is preceded in death by her son Dickie Rossey Jr., a sister, Charlotte Aiken (at age 6), and a grandchild Zachary Brewer who died in 1997.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Furlong Funeral Home, corner of Broad St. and 1st Ave. in Summerville. A funeral service will directly follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Asbury Cemetery, Clarion Twp., Clarion County, Pa.

The family suggest memorial donations be made to Children’s Hospital.
