CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – The Clarion Forest VNA will hold its 22nd Ladies Golf Outing on Saturday, June 23, at the Clarion Oaks Golf Course.

“The day of the golf outing is great for the women of our area to get together, play some golf, and have fun while raising money for a worthy cause,” said Colette Cole Vickers, Golf Committee Chair and VNA CFO.
“A lot of the women return year after year because they enjoy it so much.”
The “worthy cause” is the VNA Hospice Program. Proceeds from the outing are used to help offset cost related to hospice.
Hospice helps care for individuals who are in their final stages of life.
Clarion Forest VNA not only cares for the patients by providing medication for them but also helps them spiritually by providing grief counseling. Other aspects of the hospice program includes, but is not limited to, skilled nursing, home health aides, respite care, medical social services, and many other services.
“In 2017, Clarion Forest VNA, Inc. provided more than $250,000.00 in free and below cost care as part of the agency mission,” VNA Executive Director Jill Over.
“We serve an average of 1,200 patients in home care and 200 patients in our hospice program each year. Included in our mission is our hospice program. We at the VNA feel privileged to be able to work with so many different families within our community each year and work hard to ensure that our mission can continue.”
Colette also suggested cash sponsors donating something for the raffle or donations for “goody” bags used at the outing.
“If you would like to donate an item for the auction or goody bags, just let me know, and I would be happy to coordinate a pickup date,” said Colette. “We are planning to have 120 golfers and 30 volunteers throughout the day.”
Reservations are requested by June 15.
Team registration is $280.00, team mulligans are $20.00, and a hole sponsorship is $100.00.
