Clarion-Jefferson County Boroughs Association Formed to Give Local Municipalities ‘Stronger Voice’

CLARION/JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — The Clarion-Jefferson County Boroughs Association (CBA) was officially established on April 17th, 2024, after 20 years in the making.

The member boroughs include Brockway, Brookville, Corsica, Falls Creek, New Bethlehem, Punxsutawney, Sligo, and Worthville, according to a news release issued on Wednesday morning.

The elected officers are as follows:

– Dana Rooney, Brookville, President
– Ed Horner, Brockway, Vice-President
– Jessica Smith, Punxsutawney, Secretary
– Peggy Weible, Brockway, Treasurer
– Karen Allgeier, Brookville, PSAB Representative

The CBA members are thrilled about the opportunities this new organization will bring to Clarion and Jefferson Counties. They are excited to network and collaborate, while also having a stronger voice at the state level, according to the release.

“I feel the CBA will provide a great opportunity for our small boroughs in Clarion and Jefferson counties,” said Dana Rooney. “I know money can be very tight for some small boroughs, and having access to a template that someone else has ironed out saves a great amount of time and money in resolving issues. Each representative will bring a diverse background to the table with them to help solve any new issues that arise and result in a quicker resolution.”

The CBA’s next meeting is scheduled for July 17, in Falls Creek.
