SagerCLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A registered sex offender from Perry Township is scheduled to appear in court to answer to charges of unlawful contact with a minor and related sex crimes.

According to court documents, 30-year-old Corey Charles Sager, currently lodged in the Clarion County Jail, is set to appear in Clarion County Court of Common Pleas at 2:00 p.m. on March 1 in front of President Judge James G. Arner.

He faces the following charges:

– Failure to Verify Address/Be Photographed, Felony 2
– Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3

Details of the Case:

According to court documents, on May 23, 2016, Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges in Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office against Sager.

According to the criminal complaint, State Police Trooper Manns was assigned to investigate a case involving Sager – a registered Megan’s Law sex offender – who was accused of unlawful contact with a minor. The incident allegedly occurred around 4:18 p.m. on May 4, 2016, on Perryville Road, in Perry Township, Clarion County. During that investigation, additional violations were discovered.

The complaint indicates that on or before January 26, 2016, Corey Charles Sager “failed to correctly update his required information. Sager was living as 1243 Perryville Road, and not at 124 Hilltop Drive, Butler, Pa.,” as listed. Sager was not employed for Aldi’s Warehouse as reported. He also listed Saxonburg, Pa., incorrectly as located in Warren County.

Additionally, Sager traded a 2004 Volkswagen for a 2012 Ford and failed to make the required notification by February 17, 2016, as required, the complaint states.

On February 23, 2016, Sager again failed to correct his address, the complaint continues.

“On April 14, 2016, (Sager) began to work for UFP in Parker, Pa., and failed to make the required notification. On May 4, 2016, (Sager) was terminated from UFP and again failed to make the required notification,” according to the complaint.

“Around 4:18 p.m. on May 4, (Sager) used a communication facility to send the message ‘Can u have sex outside there?’ to a 9-year-old female victim,” the complaint states.

As of May 23, 2016, Sager was still using the address – 124 Hilltop Drive, Butler, Pa., for the Pa. Sex Offender Registration.

According to Megan’s Law website, Sager was convicted on December 12, 2008, for “Unlawful Contact or Communication with Minor.”

His Megan’s Law registration began on March 4, 2009. He is listed as a Tier 2 sex offender which requires 25 years registration.
