Clarion’s Carver Named PSAC Women’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced their weekly track & field awards on Tuesday.

Clarion’s Mackenzie Carver earned PSAC Women’s Track & Field Co-Athlete of the Week honors for April 2 after her performance at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday.

She shared this week’s award with Edinboro’s Kylie Anicic.

Carver had the highlight of the day for the Golden Eagles at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational, winning the 800m by a half-second margin and posting one of the best times in the conference in the process. She broke the tape in a time of 2:17.20, coming in 0.52 seconds ahead of Carnegie Mellon’s Isabella Rhee.

Carver’s time was faster than any time in the 800m recorded by a PSAC athlete to this point in the outdoor season.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action this weekend at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock.
