Colonial Crestwood Trailer Park High Water Usage Situation Clarified by Municipal Authority

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The Brookville Municipal Authority (BMA) has issued an official statement clarifying that water services for Colonial Crestwood Trailer Park will not be terminated on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

This announcement comes after a notice had been sent out to Colonial Crestwood’s owner and tenants regarding a potential water termination, causing concerns among residents.

Water leaks have been identified in the Crestwood water distribution system, resulting in high water usage within the trailer park, the statement said.

According to BMA, 650,000 gallons of water were consumed by Colonial Crestwood in the past month, which raised alarm bells. The high usage raised concerns about potential water shortages in the broader Brookville Municipal Authority water service area.

650,000 of water is what BMA can produce in a single day, the announcement noted.

BMA said they have been in close communication with the contractor engaged by Colonial Crestwood and have received confirmation that the repairs will be carried out promptly.

BMA emphasized that the threat of water termination on January 18, 2024, was not related to payment issues. They said they are committed to safeguarding the well-being of all water service customers and ensuring that services can be provided.

The water authority stressed that during situations of extremely high water usage and waterline breaks, they may terminate services without advance notice.

Brookville Municipal Authority will continue to closely monitor the water loss at Colonial Crestwood Trailer Park and will maintain communication with the contractor to oversee the ongoing repairs, with the goal of addressing the issues and maintaining water services without interruptions.
