County Commissioners OK Human Services Plan

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The Jefferson County Commissioners held a special conference Tuesday morning in Brookville to approve the Human Services Plan for fiscal year 2017-18.

The plan received a yes vote from all three commissioners, Jeff Pisarcik, Jack Matson and Herb Bullers.

Matson said none of the departments, Children and Youth, Drug and Alcohol, Community Action and Community Connection, asked for more money.

“There were no major changes,” Matson said. “We enhanced a housing plan with regard to veterans and others.”

Specific dollar figures will be released at a later date.

The commissioners also approved giving money from the hotel tax fund to two county entities for the promotion of tourism-based events.

A development grant of $4,846.00 went to the Brookville Chamber of Commerce for the BBQ Bash in July.

The other was for $2,000.00 for a marketing grant to the Coolspring Power Museum.
