Cranberry Claims KSAC Boys’ Cross Country Title


SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (D9Sports) – Thanks to three of the top eight finishers led by individual champion Matt Woolcock Cranberry won the KSAC boys’ cross country championship Thursday.

Woolcock won the race in a time of 17:31.74 and was joined in the top 10 by teammates Daniel Fisher (third place) and Joey FOx (eighth place).

Clarion was second just behind the Berries with 45 points led by second-place finisher Nathaniel Lerch. Also in the top 10 for the Bobcats were Gavin Hoover (sixth), Don Cunningham (ninth) and Nick Frederick (10th).

Also finishing in the top 10 were North Clarion’s Jacob Bauer (fourth), Clarion-Limestone’s Brandon Rankin (fifth) and Keystone’s Koby Buzzard (seventh).

North Clarion claimed the junior high boys’ race with a score of 51 edging Karns City by three points.

The top three finishers in the junior high race were North Clarion’s Patrick Young, C-L’s Ty Rankin and C-L’s Logan Lutz.
