CLARION, Pa.(a href=”http://www.D9sports.com”>D9Sports.com) — Even though they led by 17 points a couple minutes into the fourth quarter, the Moniteau Lady Warriors had to hold on for a 55-46 win over Brookville in the District 9 Class AA quarterfinals Wednesday night at Clarion Area High School.
As it turned out, Moniteau won despite being outscored 10-3 to start the game and 18-4 during Brookville’s furious comeback in the fourth quarter that got it within three points at 48-45 with 43 seconds remaining.
Three players reached double figures for the fourth-seeded Lady Warriors (15-8), who now meet top-seeded Karns City in next week’s semifinals at a site and time to be announced.
Kristina DeMatteis finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, Stephanie McCall had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Sara Hull added 11 points and nine rebounds.
