Daniel Maslona

Daniel MaslonaDaniel M. Maslona, 82, DuBois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his daughter’s home.

Born January 11, 1935, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Matthew J. and Elizabeth J. (Cavello) Maslona.

He married Delores E. (Wenix) Maslona on November 23, 1957 in Webster, NY. She preceded him in passing on June 24, 2016.

Daniel graduated from Williamsville High School and from Erie Community College with a degree in electrical engineering. Until his retirement in 1990, he worked as an electrical engineer.

Daniel enjoyed woodworking, golf, and aeronautics and was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Pulaski Club. He was Catholic by faith and attended Treasure Lake Church. Daniel was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his two children, Michael (Tracy) Maslona of Maryville, TN and Michelle (Dan) Bubnik of DuBois; five grandchildren, Amanda (David) Whitaker, Holly (Rodney) Des Voignes, Palmer Casteel, Chloe Casteel, and Olivia Maslona; a great-granddaughter, Carmen Whitaker; a son-in-law, Scott Casteel; two siblings, Patricia Gavin and Robert (Linda) Maslona, both of NY, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Melessa Casteel, and three siblings, Rosemary O’Rourke, Gerald Maslona, and Richard Maslona.

There will be no public visitation. All services will be private and held at the convenience of Daniel’s family. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc.
