Darrell “Butch” Pifer

Darrell “Butch” Pifer, 76, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home in Home, PA.

He was born in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Ellsworth Pifer and Bernice (Pierce) Pifer.

Butch owned and operated Pifer’s Used Car Sales for many years.

He loved to shoot the breeze with anyone who stopped by the car lot, and he always had a story to tell.

Butch always had a big smile on his face.

He was an easy-going person that enjoyed living a simple life, he was content.

He enjoyed the company of his dog Princess and lifelong friend, Greg Ondo.

Both Princess and Greg preceded him in death.

Butch was truly lost without the two of them.

He is survived by one sister, Darlene Huey of Big Run.

In addition to Greg and Princess, he is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard “Dick” Pifer.

Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home, Officiated by Pastor Cliff Vos.

He will be interred at Pearce Cemetery, Rossiter.
