Decia VanSice, 85, of Winchester, Virginia, formerly of DuBois, Pennsylvania, died Monday, August 20, 2018, in Heritage Hall, Leesburg, Virginia.
Ms. VanSice was born March 14, 1933, in Norwich, England, daughter of the late Arthur Youell and Hilda Mary Hunt Youell.
She had worked in the trust department at Deposit Bank in DuBois, Pennsylvania.
She was a member of Sabula Methodist Church in Sabula, Pennsylvania; volunteered at Winchester Medical Center and C-Cap in Winchester, Virginia; was an avid bowler for 40 years and a member of the Senior Citizens Bowling League and the Sunshine Girls Bowling League, a member of DuBois Pitch Pipers, choral group; and was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading.
She is survived by her daughters, Lesley Peterson (Gary) of Round Hill, VA, Vickie Carmella (Randy) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Vanessa Larson of Hanover, PA; son, Jon VanSice (Anita) of Berryville, VA; brothers, Arthur Youell of Matlock, Derbyshire, England and Leon Youell of Salhouse, Norwich, England; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Her sister, Judy Mason, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, VA. Burial will be at a later date in Norwich, England.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
