Details of Incident Where Man Allegedly Threatened Woman With Gun Released

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – The details of an incident where a man allegedly threatened a woman with a gun in Brookville Borough have been released.

Court documents indicate the Brookville Borough Police Department on January 17 filed criminal charges against 51-year-old Robert William Powlus, of Plains, Pa.

According to a criminal complaint, around 4:51 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, Brookville Borough Police were dispatched to a report of an incident involving a man with a gun.

Police arrived at the residence and asked the man to exit with his hands showing.

According to the complaint, the man, identified as Robert Powlus, came outside and explained he only had a BB gun, which was upstairs. He was patted down for weapons and taken upstairs, where he showed police a weapon that looked like a Glock handgun, but was found to be an Airlift gun.

Police then received a call from Jefferson County Control reporting several Administrative Office of the Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) warrants against Powlus.

Police also spoke further to the victim, who reportedly stated Powlus pointed the airsoft gun at her and threatened to kill her. The victim told police she wanted charges filed and planned to file a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order against Powlus. The victim told police Powlus stated “I will blow your (expletive) face off,” while pointing the weapon at her, according to the complaint.

Powlus was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Brookville Police Station.

According to the complaint, Powlus denied threatening the victim.

He was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak at 8:19 a.m. on January 17 on the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Disorderly Conduct Engage in Fighting, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment – Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3

Unable to post $20,000.00 (10%) monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on February 3, with Judge Bazylak presiding.
