Doris L. “Dot” Young

Doris L. “Dot” Young, 76, of W. Decatur, Pa., passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Clearfield Hospital.

Mrs. Young was born Aug. 15, 1938, in Stockton, Ga., a daughter of the late George W. and Verlie Mae (Stokes) Delk.

She is survived by John C. Young of Punxsutawney, Pa.

She was a member of the Mahaffey United Methodist Church. She loved God.

Doris was a corrections officer for the Clearfield County Jail, Cub Scout Leader, Bell Twp. Civil Defense Director, EMT for Mahaffey Area Ambulance, member of the Grandmothers Club, bowled for more than 30 years and, most of all, Dot was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and loved time spent with her family.

She is survived by one son, John “Skip” Young Jr. of Punxsutawney, Pa.; two daughters, Angela Allessie of Punxsutawney, Pa., Teresa Capozzoli of Aberdeen, Md.; two brothers, William R. Delk and wife Mellita of Valdosta, Ga., Larry E. Delk of Ray City, Ga.; one sister, Carolyn E. Ranallo and husband Martin of Blakely, Ga.; four grandchildren, Pamela Hannawell, A.J. Capozzoli, Cory Allessi, Dylan Bennett; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Capozzoli, Cara Capozzoli; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, George E. Delk; and one sister, Pamela Lynn Delk.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Kendra Kramer officiating.

Interment will be private.
