Dorothy R. Knepp

Dorothy R. Knepp, 80, of Grampian, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Ridgeview Elder Care in Curwensville.

Dorothy was born Sept. 1, 1937, in Grampian. She was a daughter of the late Richard and Helen (Bloom) Rowles.

Dorothy was an avid reader who enjoyed American history. She loved baking, camping, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. She was a bus driver for the Curwensville School District where she was involved with the band association and the girl scouts.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Russell E. Knepp Jr. and wife Linda of Curwensville, Patrick Knepp and wife Jennifer of Erie; six daughters: Pauline Davis and husband Michael of Apopka, Fla., Belinda McCraken and husband Dennis Curwensville, Kelly Malone and husband Kevin of Romney, W.Va., Connie Blake and husband Richard of Richmond, Texas, Jennifer Knepp and companion Steve of Alaska, Natalie Orcutt and husband Gary of Rockton; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters: Richard Rowles, Theo Hepburn, Arnie Rowles, Karen Hugney, Melanie Rowles, Ardell Rowles and Everett Rowles. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Knepp, on Oct. 1, 2009. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethelyn Theo Knepp and two brothers, Kenneth and Nathan Rowles.

At Mrs. Knepp’s request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey with Michael Davis officiating.
