Driver Blacks Out, Crashes Vehicle into Guide Rail in Pine Creek Township

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, around 9:15 a.m. on April 25, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, east of Hatten Road, in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 53-year-old Jeffrey Wolk, of York, NY, was traveling eastbound on I-80, negotiating a right curve in the roadway. He blacked out, and his 2016 BMW traveled off the north side of the roadway. The vehicle continued off the road and traveled up an embankment before striking a guide rail anchor, damaging approximately 36 feet of guide rail.

The left front tire of the vehicle broke off, and it came to a final rest, according to police.

Pine Creek Fire and Brookville EMS assisted at the scene.

It is unknown is Wolk was injured as a result of the crash.

He was using a seat belt.

He was transported to Brookville Hospital for evaluation.
