Driver Escapes Injury after Crashing into Utility Pole in Young Township

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Main Street Extension in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to police at 2:45 p.m. on February 9, 26-year-old Kathrine Stiver, of Reynoldsville, was traveling north in a 2002 Subaru Forester.

Police say Stiver drove the vehicle off the east side of the roadway and continued for approximately 250 feet before impacting a utility pole.

Stiver was able to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop in a nearby parking lot.

Stiver was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
