Driver Escapes Injury Following I-80 Crash in Union Township

State PoliceUNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred on September 29 along Interstate 80 in Union Township, Clearfield County.

Police say the crash occurred as a 2004 Infiniti Q50 driven by Robert J. Herman, 47, of Philadelphia, was traveling west along I-80 and lost control on the wet roadway.

The vehicle traveled off of the right side of the roadway, spun 180 degrees, and then struck several small trees and rocks before coming to rest on its drivers’ side in a small creek, according to police.

Herman was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury.

Police say he will be cited for a traffic offense.

Sandy Township Fire Department, Falls Creek Fire Department, DuSan Ambulance. and Zimmerman Towing assisted at the scene.
