Driver Escapes Injury in One-Vehicle Crash in Union Township

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225UNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say around 8:41 p.m. on April 24, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, at approximately mile marker 76.8 eastbound, in Union Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 24-year-old Derek A. Torres, of Marlboro, NJ, was traveling eastbound on I-80 in the right lane when a deer suddenly crossed into the path of his 2008 Honda Ridgeline.

Torres’ vehicle struck the deer and then came to a controlled stop along the right berm of the roadway.

Torres was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Groundhog Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
